We are seeking a Flight Path Designer to work in our Kent headquarters. The position will be responsible for design of instrument flight procedures to enhance air traffic capacity, efficiency, and safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes.
- Managing multiple project deadlines and priorities.
- Working knowledge of aeronautical charts, topographic mapping, coordinate systems, including conversions and projections.
- Working with Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) and modeling software.
- Utilizing AutoCAD Land Desktop (LDT) to design horizontal and vertical flight path components.
- Analyzing and documenting procedure design elements.
- Coordinating with production team, pilots, customers, controllers, and others to determine requirements and incorporate feedback.
Qualifications: - Detail-oriented person with demonstrated three-dimensional analysis capabilities.
- Good problem solving skills
- Works well independently and in teams.
- Associate Degree or better in Engineering, Surveying, Geography, or Aviation-Related field.
- 2 Years of experience in a related engineering discipline; or one year of experience in the field of instrument procedure design.
- Current working knowledge of a track or alignment design tool (AutoCAD w/LDT preferred); and with Excel spreadsheets.
- Inherent commitment to customer satisfaction, including response with a sense of urgency and delivery of the highest quality solutions.
- Background in aerospace, piloting, or navigation is a plus.
