Seattle, WA (October 4, 2007): Naverus is hosting the first annual RNP User Conference which will be held November 6, 7 and 8 in Seattle. During the conference Naverus customers will share their experiences with RNP which will enable attendees to learn about new applications and the different ways it has benefited their organization. In addition to operator perspectives, presentations will be made by AVTECH, GE Aviation’s Smiths Aerospace and Naverus subject matter experts. A highlight of the event will be Airservices Australia’s review of the Brisbane RNP Trial where Naverus Tailored RNP procedures have been successfully integrated into the third busiest terminal area in Australia.
RNP (Required Navigation Performance) represents the most modern aircraft navigation technique. It utilizes GPS and sophisticated avionics to ensure that aircraft stay on precise, pre-programmed paths. In addition to providing navigation solutions for terrain challenged airports, RNP can be used to increase safety and operational efficiency while minimizing aircraft emissions and noise at any airport. RNP has been identified by the FAA as a key ingredient in the modernization of U.S. air traffic control.
Attendance at the conference will be limited in order to maximize interaction between participants. Invitations have already been sent out to Naverus customers and a select number of others. Others interested in participating should send an email to smelcher@naverus.com with “User Conference” in the subject heading. These requests will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability.
