Yang Yuanyuan, Minister of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC), visited Naverus corporate headquarters on July 7, 2006. Minister Yang’s visit was an expression of commitment to partnership between CAAC and Naverus.
Naverus RNP procedures support the growth of Chinese civil aviation by enhancing the safety of airline operations and providing access to new airports. Naverus and the CAAC are working together to obtain other valuable benefits from RNP by expanding its application to other airports in China. Through these efforts, the CAAC will be able to increase the efficiency of its airspace and minimize aircraft emissions.
The minister enthusiastically revealed that, prior to his visit, he and Wu Yi, the Chinese Vice Premier of Commerce and Transport, had just been in the cockpit jump seats of an Air China 757 flying the Naverus RNP approach into Linzhi. Minister Yang and Vice Premier Wu were both impressed with the “solid performance” of the RNP system.
Minister Yang and his party met with Naverus Board Member Stew Chapin, CEO Dan Gerrity, co-founders Steve Fulton and Hal Andersen and others on the Naverus team. After touring the offices and attending informational sessions about Naverus’ design process, Minister Yang personally wrote and signed a message to Naverus (see photo).
